1. Keeping track of applications and deadline dates is your responsibility.
2. In filling out the scholarship, please follow all directions. If there are no specific directions, it is always best to TYPE or print in black ink.
3. Make a copy of the application and do a rough draft before the final draft.
4. Give as much detailed information about yourself, your accomplishments and goals as you are able.
5. Do not procrastinate. Mail BEFORE the deadline.
6. Do as many scholarship applications as possible as that gives you more opportunity to win one.
7. Ask for recommendations from respected adults who know you well and who are willing to do recommendations for you. Give that person as much time and information about the scholarship and your qualifications for it as possible. Make sure you supply an addressed envelope if needed.
8. Take your application to the counselor if you have any questions or if you would like an evaluation or suggestions.
9. Make a copy of the completed application, date it and file it where you can easily find it.
10. Write a thank you note to all who wrote recommendations for you.
